Vice President and Paralegal
Susy is a Vice President and the Paralegal in the legal department of the corporate offices of The Woodmont Company in Fort Worth, Texas. She has worked with Woodmont since 1987; both in an in-house capacity starting in January, 2001, and prior to that serving Woodmont as the client of Law, Snakard & Gambill where she was employed for 14 years.
Susy is a Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Board Certified Paralegal in Real Estate, and she is one of only 21 people in the State of Texas who have achieved this distinction. Susy has worked as a Paralegal for forty years. Her experience includes working for prestigious law firms before joining the in-house team at Woodmont. Susy has worked on hundreds of real estate transactions for Woodmont over the years, from letters of intent to contracts for acquisition of land, with title and survey review and due diligence, and closing on loans, working with municipalities and governments on economic incentives, creation of underlying documentation for restrictions and easements and property governance, and forming and filing entities for projects, leasing the improved properties, selling pads and shopping center properties, and handling closing checklists and preparing deeds and other closing documents upon disposition.
PROFESSIONAL AND CIVIC INVOLVEMENT
Susy is a Member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, and she serves on the Board for the State Bar of Texas, Paralegal Division. Susy has been on the Board of the Fort Worth Paralegal Association for many years, including serving as a past-President. Susy was presented with the “Paralegal of the Year” award in 2016 for Tarrant County through the Fort Worth Paralegal Association. She is also a member of the Texas Bar College. Susy is very active in the Tarrant County Veteran’s Treatment Court, as well as the Tarrant County First Responder’s Treatment Court – where she coordinates the Christmas Gift Program for the Children of the Treatment Court Participants every year. Susy is a Deaconess on the Board of Faith Assembly Arlington.
