Karen Jones joined The Woodmont Company in February 2012. In her position as Development Associate, Ms. Jones is responsible to assist the property management department with tenant improvement and capital projects. In addition she is involved with the company’s development projects, including free standing Walgreens developments. Ms. Jones is responsible for reviewing tenant plans, site visits and processing draw requests for tenants work. She is also responsible for obtaining bids for improvements such as asphalt and roof replacement, along with other capital projects such as foundation and underground utility repairs.
Ms. Jones began her real estate career with Leonard Construction Co. in 1980 as the General Manager overseeing the construction of numerous neighborhood retail centers in California. In 1985, Ms. Jones accepted a position with Independent Development Company as a Development Manager where she was responsible for the initial pre-development budgeting, securing of governmental approvals and obtaining all governmental permits for the construction of neighborhood retail centers, also in California. In 1992, Ms Jones accepted a position with Coreland Companies as a Regional Property Manager where she was responsible for overseeing the management of 2.5 million square feet of retail shopping centers. She was responsible for all capital and tenant improvement projects for these centers.
